Background
The client focuses on the large-scale production of Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine (IPV). The core process involves culturing Vero cells to achieve viral proliferation.
In traditional production methods, the client faced challenges such as inconsistent cell growth and unstable virus yields. These issues not only compromised vaccine quality but also limited production efficiency. To ensure vaccine safety and increase manufacturing capacity, a more reliable and robust production solution was required.
Solution
The client introduced our bioreactor system, establishing a complete upstream production process from cell culture to virus harvest:
1.Cell Seeding: The bioreactor precisely controls temperature and gas conditions, enabling cells to attach to the surface quickly and uniformly. This significantly improves cell seeding efficiency and survival rates.
2.Cell Culture: Leveraging the system's efficient nutrient supply and environmental control, cells reach high density in a shorter time without the need for cumbersome manual intervention.
3.Virus Amplification: Post-infection, the system maintains optimal conditions for extended periods, supporting stable virus replication and harvest while simplifying operational workflows.
Results
Increased Viral Yield: The harvested virus titer fully meets the requirements of subsequent inactivation processes, providing a solid foundation for vaccine antigen production.
