Project Background
A biotechnology enterprise focused on the large-scale production of medical-grade hyaluronic acid needed to establish an efficient and stable upstream fermentation system. The core requirement was the construction of a 2×40T fermentation production line to achieve high-density fermentation of engineered strains and efficient synthesis of HA, while strictly ensuring product molecular weight uniformity and low endotoxin levels.
Equipment Configuration
We provided the core bioreactors and a complete set of upstream supporting equipment, including:
Core Fermenters: Two 40T fermenters equipped with high-efficiency six-bladed agitation systems and precise aeration control modules to ensure optimal mass transfer efficiency.
Auxiliary Systems: Seed tanks, media preparation tanks, sterile air handling systems, and online monitoring/control systems.
The system provides real-time monitoring of critical process parameters such as temperature (35-40℃), pH (6.5-7.0), and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) saturation.
Implementation Results
Since commissioning, the production line has demonstrated excellent performance:
Increased Efficiency: The fermentation cycle is stably controlled within 16-18 hours, with an HA yield of 4.2 g/L, representing a 35% increase compared to the original process.
Quality Compliance: Leveraging precise temperature and aeration control strategies, DO saturation is maintained above 30% throughout the process. The final product exhibits a concentrated molecular weight distribution of 1-4 million Da, with protein residues ≤0.1% and endotoxin levels <0.05 EU/mg, fully meeting high medical-grade standards
