CHO Cell Suspension Culture

Project Background
A biomedical laboratory at a university required a system for high-density suspension culture of CHO cells and protein expression research. The core objectives were to achieve large-scale cell expansion while ensuring process stability and data traceability. The laboratory ultimately selected our 15L and 100L series suspension culture bioreactors along with supporting upstream equipment.

Implementation Process
The project was implemented in two phases:
Phase 1 (15L Bioreactor): Focused on seed expansion and process optimization. The system precisely controls critical parameters such as temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO). It is equipped with a low-shear agitation system that effectively prevents cell damage while ensuring optimal mixing.
Phase 2 (100L Bioreactor): Focused on large-scale cultivation. Leveraging the system's powerful online monitoring and data acquisition capabilities, the laboratory tracked real-time trends in cell density, viability, and metabolic byproducts (e.g., lactate, ammonia), ensuring process continuity and stability. Additionally, the supporting upstream equipment guaranteed the sterility and efficiency of media preparation and aseptic inoculation.

Project Results
High Yield: The final CHO cell density reached 8.2×10⁶ cells/mL, and the target protein expression level increased by 35% compared to traditional culture methods.
Reliability: The equipment operated stably without any contamination throughout the process.
Data Integrity: Experimental data was recorded completely and is fully traceable.
This system provides a reliable technical foundation for large-scale cultivation, supporting the laboratory's subsequent drug research and development efforts.
